You will learn movements and exercises that will help improve your balance and posture while moving around a massage table and using your body to apply more pressure without compromising your joints. and tissue integrity, ensuring that interventions go beyond symptom relief to address the root causes of
dysfunction. This course covers assessment tools, including the Wall Angel Test, Modified Thomas Test,
March/Stork Test, and Trendelenburg Test, and integrates them into massage treatment strategies.
Participants will also explore breathing mechanics, analyzing how diaphragmatic engagement supports core
stability and overall movement efficiency. By the end of the course, therapists will confidently recognize poor
muscle load order, improve cueing techniques for client awareness, and refine their palpation and manual
therapy protocols to enhance functional movement.

Taught by approved instructor Laura Ford | Learn how postural distortions that deviate from homeostatic posture cause pain and inflammation in the shoulder region and, if not addressed, often prevent the full rehabilitation of this region. Discover why it’s essential to properly release antagonist muscles to maintain shoulder integrity. Explore how distortions in the shoulder girdle contribute to postural dysfunction in the neck, thorax, and pelvis. Study the thoracic outlet and brachial plexus and thoracic inlet and how they relate to treatment of the neck, shoulder and arm pain.

Ethics (Standards Of Practice)

Taught by Laura Landsiedel Ford | Standards of Practice ethics class discusses and explores best practice for informed consent, clear boundaries and expectations, as well as best practices that represent a qualifed industry. From time to time sub-topics relating to current events affecting our industry will be included. We will discuss matters pertaining to recent issues brought to a licensing or registrant board’s attention as well as national news affecting the industry.
